Demand for New Pension Code / EPS-2026 Act and Immediate Relief for EPS-95 Pensioners.
The EPS-95 National Agitation Committee / National Coordination Committee has expressed gratitude to the Honourable Prime Minister, Honourable Labour Minister, Honourable Finance Minister, Secretaries of the Government of India, and senior EPFO officers for holding discussions and meetings regarding the long-pending demands of EPS-95 pensioners.
However, despite repeated meetings, memorandums, assurances, and discussions over many years, no concrete and constructive official decision has yet been taken for lakhs of pensioners across the country.
The organisation has stated that nearly four lakh pensioners have passed away during this long struggle while waiting for justice, pension increase, medical support, and relief. Pensioners are continuously being neglected despite their contribution to the nation during their working life.
The Committee has demanded:
1. Minimum monthly pension of Rs. 9,000/-.
2. Dearness Allowance with pension.
3. Medical facilities for pensioners and spouses.
4. Speedy settlement of higher pension cases.
5. Simplified pension procedures.
6. Immediate official action by the Government and EPFO.
The organisation has also strongly demanded that the Government should replace the old EPS-95 structure with a new Pension Code or EPS-2026 Act through Parliament.
The proposed new Act should include provisions for minimum pension, DA, widow pension, medical facilities, fast claim settlement, and social security for all pensioners.
The Committee has appealed to all print media, electronic media, YouTube channels, social media platforms, and journalists across India to highlight the genuine problems of pensioners and support their long-pending demands.
The organisation believes that immediate intervention is necessary so that elderly pensioners may receive justice during their lifetime.
