California: The wildfires continue to wreak havoc in California, particularly in Los Angeles, where the flames have now spread to Hollywood. The fire, which started in the forests of Los Angeles, has grown more intense, causing mass destruction. Over 2 lakh people have been ordered to evacuate their homes as the flames inch closer to populated areas, including Hollywood. In just three days, 28,000 acres of land have been burnt down, and five people have lost their lives. Several mansions of celebrities, including Paris Hilton’s, have been destroyed by the fire, and over 1 lakh people have been displaced.
Numerous major production house studios in Hollywood Hills, as well as several celebrity homes, have been engulfed in flames. The fire is currently spread over five areas, some of which remain uncontrollable. Firefighters are tirelessly working to bring the fire under control.
The wildfires in Los Angeles County have left at least five people dead, destroyed hundreds of buildings, and forced nearly 180,000 residents to evacuate. Despite the valiant efforts of firefighters, the largest fires remain completely out of control, with weather conditions and the ongoing effects of climate change expected to continue spreading the flames for days.
Currently, five major fires are still active in Los Angeles County, burning more than 45 square miles of land. Among them, the Palisades Fire in the coastal Pacific Palisades community and the Eaton Fire in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains remain the largest, with no containment efforts successful yet.
